Voices of Resilience: Stories of Community Renewal (CARE 13) Series

The theme for the ABU CARE 13: “Voices of Resilience: Stories of Community Renewal”

CARE (Change Asia Rescue the Earth), the annual co-production initiative developed in cooperation with the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) and the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), launched its first series in 2010 under the theme of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Over the past decade, CARE has been an inspiring joint effort, with ABU member broadcasters continuing to contribute to the project in pursuit of a better future for all. As the global agenda evolved from the MDGs to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), CARE has likewise renewed its commitment which aligning its vision with the broader mission of sustainable development and reinforcing its role as a platform for collective action and storytelling that drives positive change.

Hosted by China Global Television Network (CGTN) and Vietnam Television (VTV), the 13th CARE co-production will focus on the strength, creativity, and determination of communities across the Asia-Pacific region as they confront challenges and rebuild their futures. Through the challenges they face, from environmental change and natural disasters to social inequality, economic hardship, and cultural transformation, powerful stories of resilience emerge, of individuals and communities finding innovative ways to adapt, recover, and renew their collective spirit.

The series aims to emphasize the importance of personal and collective stories as sources of inspiration and healing, and to convey hope that renewal is possible when diverse voices come together to rebuild and transform.

Discovering stories of resilience and community renewal is envisioned as an international call for a fresh new beginning to 13th edition of the CARE Series. The ABU CARE 13 Series will serve as a timely platform to reaffirm its ultimate mission ‘Change Asia and Rescue the Earth’ and to contribute to building a better world through the pursuit of sustainable development.
