2025 T4P – Together for Planet, People, Peace Media Awards

Dear colleagues,

We cordially invite you to participate in the second edition of the ABU Together for Planet, People, Peace Media Awards (T4P Media Awards)—an initiative of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) honouring outstanding media programmes and initiatives that inspire positive change.
The T4P Media Awards celebrate powerful stories that promote sustainable living, social justice, inclusion, and a culture of peace and equal opportunity. We’re seeking content that uplifts, educates, and motivates audiences—whether by fostering environmental consciousness, building empathy, or strengthening community resilience.

Eligible entries can span various topics across three key themes: Planet – Embracing Sustainable Living; People – Fostering Inclusivity and Diversity; and Peace – Promoting Harmony and Understanding. The winners of the 2025 ABU T4P Media Awards will be announced during the Awards Ceremony held in association with the 9th ABU Media Summit on Climate Action and Disaster Prevention, on 25th November 2025 in Colombo, Sri-Lanka.

Rita Noujaim
Program Manager, Radio Liban

Rita Noujaim is the Programme manager at Radio Liban since 2016, and a Professor at Beirut Arab University teaching the radio program. She has made successful innovations on the programs such as inviting journalism students to become anchors at the radio, producing short programs (2 - 3 minutes), inviting the orchestra conductor to present a musical program, honoring the artists, and many other ideas that made the radio as a social platform that united youth and all generations.

Pipope Panitchpakdi
Freelance Documentary Filmmaker and Media Trainer

Pipope Panitchpakdi is a freelance journalist and documentary filmmaker known for his social documentaries on environmental issues and climate change in Thailand and neighboring countries. His notable works include "Mekong Travelers," examining dam impacts on the Mekong River, and "Tham Luang Stories," detailing the Thai cave rescue mission. Formerly with Thai PBS, Pipope now focuses on science communication and media training with GIZ. He's working on a digital story about the proposed land bridge in Southern Thailand. He holds degrees in Mass Communication and Theatre Arts.

James Cridland
An award-winning writer, radio presenter, and internet strategist

James Cridland is the Editor of Podnews, the daily podcast newsletter, and a leading radio futurologist. With a career in audio since 1989, he has worked as a writer, presenter, and strategist, pioneering innovations such as the world’s first radio streaming app and the first daily podcast from a UK radio station.

He has held key roles with Virgin Radio, the BBC, and numerous global broadcasters and audio tech companies, helping them navigate the shift to digital platforms. A co-founder of Next Radio and contributor to Radiodays Europe, Radiodays Asia, and Podcast Day 24, James continues to champion innovation in audio.

In 2025, he received the inaugural Ambies International Impact Award for his global contribution to podcasting. Based in Brisbane, Australia, he writes, speaks, and consults on the future of audio worldwide.

S. Izmerai Munim Durrani
An award-winning Executive Producer and Media Strategist

S. Izmerai Munim Durrani is an award-winning Executive Producer and media strategist with over a decade of experience delivering high-impact investigative content across global platforms. His latest film, Kids Fight - a powerful, deeply human coming-of-age docufilm uncovering systemic child neglect and post conflict displacement in the Global South, is the result of a 9-year investigative journey across multiple countries. The film has been hailed for its unflinching storytelling, cinematic depth, and impact-driven approach.

With a background spanning journalism, broadcast, and independent media, Izmerai has collaborated with global partners and institutions to produce narratives that challenge power structures and amplify marginalised voices. His work has been recognised for its courage, insight, and commitment to truth on platforms such as Cannes Lions, LIA, CLIOS and many more prestigious awards.

Izmerai continues to explore the intersections of justice, conflict, and resilience, using storytelling as a tool for transformation.

Markus Nikel
International Advisor, Rai Documentari, Prix Italia, Rai International Relations – Italy

As a commissioning consultant, Markus is advising RAI Documentari, the Italian public broadcaster’s documentary department, on international projects. At RAI, he also works with Prix Italia and the International Relations Department. Besides his broadcaster activities, Markus has been working as a Festival Consultant, Programmer and Workshop Tutor, including at Japan Prize, Italian Doc Screenings, Guangzhou International DocFestival, BakaForum and others. Currently, he teaches a course on documentaries and factual programs for Kids and Youth at Manifatture Digitali Cinema, Prato, a media training center run by the Tuscany Region. His most recent works as an author include “Noto - Garden of Stone” (2023, for German-French channel ARTE) and, in 2024, credits as an Executive Producer to a ABU documentary coproduction commemorating the 20 years anniversary of the Tsunami disaster in 2004. Since 2016, Markus serves as the President of the TV Commission of COPEAM, a mediterranean association of broadcasters. He lives in Rome with his wife and has two adult sons.
